Water Trunk Main Renewal – DOXA, ARCADIA, GR
The existing water trunk main had severe performance problems and leakage losses, imposing a higher risk of water scarcity for the area and causing difficulties on reservoir’s balanced operation.
Furthermore, the aforementioned reservoir was the only source of potable water for the area nearby.
The design utilized the existing water transfer network and our goal was to resolve the problem with non-invasive and small-scale works in order to protect the network from leakage and prevent any further water supply issues.
Our team analyzed the existing situation in an effort to reach a sustainable solution with minimal renewal costs and environmental nuisance.
The new trunk main was designed to follow the same route with the existing one.
PE pipes were preferred due to their flexibility, strength and ease of construction. Further to the project design, Hydrobalance also prepared the tender documents for the construction of the project.
