Water Distribution Network Projects- LEVIDI, ARCADIA, GR
The last decades, the area of Levidi was facing water supply problems due to an old water distribution network operating in the area.
The water availability had significant fluctuation between 280 – 700 m3/day, due to insufficient water sources during summer months.
The presence of uncharted distribution network imposed the risk of cross-contamination, significant losses and low pressure supply for consumers.
Hydrobalance’s design team reviewed the special operating circumstances and presented ways of overcoming the special challenges through hydraulic modelling and smart network design.
The existing main and secondary water distribution network was replaced in its entirety.
Our focus was to implement the minimum route changes, in order to sustain the existing operational area division for the network. Each supply zone has distinctive operating conditions and was supplied by one reservoir .
PE pipes were chosen due to their flexibility, strength and ease of implementation and transport.
