Sea outfall renewal for wastewateer disposal – ARGOS- NAUPLION, ARGOLIS, GR
As the final part of wastewater treatment, the safe disposal of treated wastewater is key for the protection of the aquatic environment.
The existing outfall was covered in silt depositions, the pipeline diffusers were destroyed.
The outfall’s shallow depth hindered the pollutant’s diffusion in the sea.
Hydrobalance’s team designed the Argos – Nauplion W.W.T.P. effluent main renewal, that consists of two sections, one overland and one underwater.
Ductile iron as well as PE were proposed to be utilized for the new main based on different requirements.
The outlet structure of the sea outfall was proposed to be a diffuser.
The main design pillar was to ensure the outfall’s excellent hydraulic operation below pipe’s capacity for the entirety of its useful life. Thus, for the discharge into the waterway adequate diffusion of treated wastewater was established.
The project pack included the analytical description related to the outfall laying method as well as proposals on the W.W.T.P optimal operation techniques.
