Strean training & flood protection analysis– LOUTRAKI, CORINTHIA, GR
In order to obtain the building permits for residential units, it was required to include the documentation related to stream training and flood protection design for the stream adjacent to the development area.
Flood events are frequent in the area. The stream boundaries were not well defined and the riverbed had been used as an access road for the dwellings nearby.
The design was focused on the determination of the area susceptible to flooding and the proposal of appropriate measures and works to protect the area.
Through thorough hydraulic modelling, our team reviewed all potential flooding parameters and proposed suitable protection measures.
Hydrobalance completed the stream training design and subsequently suggested works in order to protect the housing areas from possible flood events.
