Stream training- SIMIADES, ARCADIA, GR


In Simiades, Arcadia, it was necessary to complete a detailed stream training analysis related to the stream flowing in the region.

In order to preserve the natural environment, stream boundary lines and flood plain map were defined for the area of interest.

The flow rate was calculated in the hydrological assessment for a return period equal to 50 years.

Our team completed a thorough assessment used a rigid scientific method and approved software.

The principal idea was to maintain the natural riverbed and propose constructional improvements only where necessary.

As a result of the stream training analysis, the stream was proposed to remain unchanged from its natural geometry, as the flow is restricted between the natural river boundaries.
